Yes, We Took A Road Trip During Covid

Let’s put first thing first: Stay home. Wear a mask. I’m not kidding. One day I would like to get on a plane again and travel the globe. I’d like to go browse shops and sit at a bar and have wine with friends. We won’t be able to do that anytime soon until we all buckle down and take one for the team.

Ok, that said, I have to confess that my family and I took a two week, socially distant road trip from Georgia to California. IN MAY 2020! It took a ton of research and a whole lot of planning. But we did it and it was an unqualified success! It was my stepdaughter’s first time in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California (they’d already been to Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee). We saw so many beautiful, fun, and funny things. We talked, we napped, we laughed, we learned. At 14 and 17 years old, we were amazed to have no meltdowns, no angst…well…I got close a couple times! Having a third license driver was definitely helpful. I recommend you get one!
